Divine Liturgy (Feast of St John Chrysostom)
Entry of the Mother of God into the Temple
A Great Feast of the Mother of God, kept during the Nativity Fast: the young Virgin is brought to the Temple in Jerusalem and dedicated to God.
St Andrew the Apostle
The feast of the First-Called Apostle and patron of Romania, a day of special celebration for the Romanian faithful of the parish.
December 2026
The Nativity of Christ
The festal Divine Liturgy for the Nativity of Christ. All are welcome.
January 2027
Theophany - the Baptism of the Lord
The Great Feast of the Lord's Baptism in the Jordan, with the Great Blessing of the Waters. Holy water is shared with the whole parish.
February 2027
Divine Liturgy in Durham Cathedral
The parish has been invited to celebrate the Divine Liturgy at the high altar of Durham Cathedral, for all Orthodox Christians in the region. It is believed to be the first Orthodox Liturgy ever celebrated there.
March 2027
St Cuthbert, Our Patron
The feast of St Cuthbert of Lindisfarne, patron of the parish, whose relics rest in Durham Cathedral, a short walk from the church.
The Annunciation
The Great Feast of the Annunciation: the Archangel Gabriel tells the Virgin Mary that she is to bear the Saviour.
