What we collect
Link statistics
When you follow one of our short links (video links): each click is kept as a record of the time, the referring page and the browser type, and deleted after twelve months. No name, no email, no IP address.

Technical logs
Our hosting provider keeps short-lived server logs, including IP addresses.

Cookies and embedded content
This site sets no cookies. That is why there is no cookie banner.
Some pages offer YouTube videos, Google maps or calendars, and the Gift Aid declaration form on the Giving page, which is a Google Form. Nothing loads from those providers until you choose to press play or load them. At that point the provider may set its own cookies, under its own privacy policy.
If you tick “remember my decision”, that choice is stored in your own browser. It is never sent to us. The same is true of the text size you choose when reading a sermon and, for the length of your visit only, of which page of the Special Services book you were reading.
Donations and Gift Aid
Donations are made through your own bank, by standing order or transfer - never through this website. We never see or store your card or bank details.
If you complete the Gift Aid declaration on the Giving page, the name, address and taxpayer confirmation you enter are collected by Google Forms and passed to the parish treasurer, who keeps them for as long as HM Revenue & Customs requires records of Gift Aid claims. They are used for nothing else. To withdraw a declaration, email the address below.
Who processes this data
Vercel (hosting) and Supabase (database and the files offered for download) process the data above on our behalf, under their standard data-processing terms. No one else receives it.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you can:
- Request a copy of the information we hold about you
- Have it corrected or deleted
- Object to or restrict how we use it
- Withdraw consent at any time
To exercise any of these, email fr.justin@durhamorthodox.church. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk - though we would welcome the chance to resolve any concern first.
Changes
If the website’s data handling changes, this notice will be updated at the same time, with the date above.
